What’s this? A building built from the ground up by a developer in New York, and designed to look like a New York building? Something to look forward to at 211 Elizabeth Street.
It’s pleasing. That’s indeed what a New York building was in the 1880’s. To me, it seems to lack creativity and has the only merit of “fitting in”.

Andrew, I’m in complete agony. A life of crime, lawyering… corporate lobbying (wait, already doing that), I’ll do whatever it takes to live there!
But seeing something well designed – that is, designed for people, their cultural totems, self-production and movements included – raises the question why we are very so tasteless. How have we gotten to a place were simple elegant apartment – nothing specially really – can be like rain in a desert?
I really like it; thanks!
God bless,
Mark

Thank God, there is hope.
