Splendid, Cusack.
I see that you have discovered the New York Times archives, now that they are free. And to think that I have spent hundreds over the past few years pursuing my family down the mists of time! Can’t say I’ve ever come across so delectable a family tidbit though.
Sad,is it not, what the city of our ancestors has become in the fifty odd years since that photo was taken?

Truly delightful, Andrew. I am confident your grandfather’s smile was even bigger than the one in the photo–when he saw this post from his current perch beyond this world.

Andrew:
I love the picture! Adorable! Will pass it on to my family who has heard all the wonderful stories about your grandfather. Happy Thanksgiving!
Regards to Colonel Cusack.
Best, Patricia

Mr. Cusack,
Do you have plans to join the old guard or the New York Guard ?
(note: there is a difference between the New York Guard and the New York Army National Guard )

The truth be know PLK, that
Mr. Cusack has served three years in the NYG and was in Scotland when his re-enlistment came up. We would be happy to have him back.

Thank you Colonel, the NYG is a great organization !!
I was going to leave an ad hominem attack based on this completely nauseating post until I read your equally nauseating rules about the kinds of comments one is allowed to leave. So I will merely advise you that, in said rules, you have incorrectly spelled one of the most basic words in the English language. Cheers!

Hello again, Mr. Fitzgerald!
You can’t seem to get enough of andrewcusack.com. I’m glad to see that my site continues to have such a powerful effect on your internal organs.
Thank you for kindly pointing out the spelling error; I have corrected it accordingly.
Andrew,
Excellent blog! Your subject matter is always fascinating. I wanted to alert you that the Old Guard is having their annual ball February 1st. I was invited through my national guard and veterans organization contacts. It should be a good time.

Your father is young enough to be my brother….
I’m going to be sick. Excuse me…
His dad actually would be my youngest brother.
Outstanding pic!
Great picture..
